Photovoltaic glass, as the name suggests, is a special type of glass used in solar photovoltaic modules. It is not only the front cover plate of photovoltaic modules, serving as a protective layer for solar cells, but also a key functional material for solar power generation. It needs to have a high light transmittance to allow sunlight to pass through to the maximum extent, while providing mechanical support for the fragile solar cells and resisting the long-term erosion of harsh environments such as wind, frost, rain, snow, hail and ultraviolet rays.
In simple terms, photovoltaic glass is the "skin" and "armor" of photovoltaic modules, and its performance directly determines the power generation efficiency and service life of the modules.
The Importance of Photovoltaic Glass
1. High light transmittance: Directly enhances power generation efficiency. For every 1% increase in the transmittance of incident light, the power generation capacity of the module will increase accordingly.
2. Physical protection: Protect the internal EVA film and the fragile silicon wafer battery from external force impacts, vibrations, and environmental damage such as moisture and corrosive gases.
3. Weather resistance: It can withstand the thermal stress caused by the temperature difference between day and night and the changes of the four seasons, as well as long-term ultraviolet radiation without yellowing or fogging, ensuring a service life of 25 to 30 years for the modules.
