Sweden Will Build 128.5MW Solar Power Park

Nov 29, 2022

A few days ago, Danish renewable energy company European Energy will build a 128.5MW solar power park in Sweden. Once completed, the power plant will be the largest solar facility in Sweden with an annual capacity of 175GWh. The park is expected to be completed in 2023 and start generating electricity in 2024.

Jens-Peter Zink, deputy CEO of European Energy, said: "This is a milestone in the history of large-scale solar power generation in Sweden. This case is ecstatic for residents and companies in southern Sweden, who suffer from chronic power shortages and high electricity prices. The Svedberga solar power park will produce new green electricity, which can supply 35,000 households with annual electricity consumption, which is the largest new energy electricity contribution we have made to the region for many years."

The total area of the Svedberga solar power park is 232.5 hectares, about 1/3 of which is used for photovoltaic power generation.
