Photovoltaic Is Developing Rapidly in The Field Of Transportation

Sep 22, 2022

On September 17, the "2022 Global Energy Transition High-Level Forum" was held in Beijing. Zhang Jianhua, director of the National Energy Administration, pointed out at the meeting that in the future, it is necessary to continue to improve the cleanliness of terminal energy consumption and implement electric energy substitution in depth. By 2025, electric energy will account for 30% of terminal energy consumption. Actively promote the development of green energy consumption models such as low-carbon transportation and building photovoltaic integration, and actively explore new ways to replace fossil energy such as green hydrogen, methanol, and ammonia energy. Through the upgrading of the energy consumption system, the comprehensive green transformation of production and lifestyle will be driven.

At present, with the continuous development of photovoltaic technology, photovoltaic is becoming more and more widely available, which means that its penetration rate in the transportation field will gradually increase. On the other hand, the relevant state departments have naturally noticed the huge potential of photovoltaic in transportation construction. Therefore, in recent years, policy documents of various sizes have emerged one after another.

On August 6, 2020, the Ministry of Transport mentioned in the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Construction of New Infrastructure in the Field of Transportation" that it encourages the rational layout of photovoltaic power generation facilities along highways such as service areas and slopes, and the Wait for grid-connected power supply.

In 2021, the "Opinions on Completely, Accurately and Fully Implementing the New Development Concept and Doing a Good Job in Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutralization" and the "Carbon Peaking Action Plan before 2030" were successively issued, and the documents proposed to accelerate the construction of a low-carbon transportation system, " Green and Low-Carbon Actions for Transportation" was also included in the "Top Ten Actions for Carbon Peaking".

In 2022, the policy enthusiasm of "photovoltaic + transportation" will continue to increase.

On January 4, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other five departments jointly issued the "Smart Photovoltaic Industry Innovation and Development Action Plan (2021-2025)". . Accelerate the promotion and application of integrated development projects such as "photovoltaic + transportation", and promote the demonstration construction of photovoltaic power stations and charging piles in the transportation field.

In just the past two weeks, on January 18, the State Council issued the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of a Modern Comprehensive Transportation System" which clearly stated that it is encouraged to rationally distribute photovoltaic power generation facilities in transportation hubs and stations and along roads and railways, so as to allow transportation. More environmentally friendly, travel more low-carbon. The two documents at the beginning of the year set the tone for promoting the rapid development of photovoltaic power generation in the field of transportation.

On August 29, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other 5 departments jointly issued the "Notice of Accelerating the Green and Low-Carbon Innovation Development of Electric Power Equipment", which requires the comprehensive promotion of photovoltaic applications in transportation fields such as new energy vehicle charging stations and expressway service areas.

"Photovoltaic + transportation" will usher in a major development opportunity.
